The Prairie Lakes AEA 8 KIDS program offers home visits by trained staff.  The KIDS program supports and assists parents in their very important role at a crucial stage of their child's development.  Staff actively partner with parents to make decisions about goals and services and to respond to parents' questions and concerns.  Home visits are scheduled at the family's convenience and is available to all families in Emmet County with children prenatal to age 8.  The program is voluntary, without cost, and is confidential.

Information is provided to parents on each child's development, practical ways to encourage learning, manage behavior, and build strong parent- child relationships.  Periodic screenings of children's overall development are also offered.

Monthly newsletters provide parents with information on a variety of topics, activities to do with their children and upcoming local events.  KIDS staff is knowledgeable about community resources and is able to link families with these resources as needed.  For more information or to make a referral please contact KIDS at 866-540-3860.
